Craving for some Japanese teishoku, I found this eatery in a small alley. I found the prices here to be very affordable as well. A piece of grilled salmon was only ¥500. It was a little salty, but it does go well with rice. The meat was firm. I also got a simmered flat fish set (¥900) where the fish meat easily fell off the bone. The simmered sauce was both savoury and sweet which was good to have with rice. Overall a good dining experience.

Super cool experience for tourists if you end up getting one of the tables where you have to sit on the floor mats like we did. I was in a bit of discomfort for the majority of the meal but it was made up by the good food and atmosphere.

If you like traditional Japanese cuisines, delicious food, and do not mind smoking, this is heaven. If you do not like please avoid. I love this restaurant so much and will definitely come back. Tonight, I seated with some local people on the same table, tasting delicious food (MaPo tofu, onion pork, tofu stew), drinking Sapporo beer (love it), really nice experience. And the price is friendly, which is a plus.
