Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan｜Minami

Fantastic food! Coming from California, I thought we did Japanese food well enough to compete, but this restaurant blew my mind. Super friendly service, great wine, TV for watching baseball…this restaurant is a true diamond in Yamanashi.

I've wanted to go for a while, but I usually go during lunchtime and it's crowded, so I went around 2:30 pm, which was a different time than usual. There were no other customers, just me. (In the end, I was alone until I returned home.) For food, I ordered the fried shrimp set meal. However, there is currently a shortage of shrimp, so the set meal consisted of an extra-large fried shrimp, fried scallops, fried horse mackerel, and cream croquette. Personally, I think it's good that I can eat a variety of things. As for the food, the batter was crispy and the shrimp were plump. Good taste and plenty of volume. The other fries were also delicious. I had it served as half rice, but it was a bit much. The price was 2400 yen, the same as the fried shrimp set meal, but since it was half rice, it was 2300 yen. This is a store I would definitely like to visit again.

Ordered the famous fried shrimp set meal and hamburger set meal. Two people ate together. The service is quick and the atmosphere is like a set meal restaurant in town. It was around noon on a weekday, so the store was buzzing with activity, with groups of office workers and women in the middle of business. I would definitely like to stop by again.
