More Comments at Google MapSmall, unassuming restaurant nestled outside the touristy Arashiyama. Seats around 10. Operated by one friendly aunty. There's no menu. After seating, she asked what size of rice we wanted then scurried to the kitchen to prepare our meals. You can smell her stir-frying while listening to relaxing Jazz. Meal served within 10 minutes. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented: pickled lotus root, okra, cucumber, carrots, eggplant, eggs and bitter melon, eggs and potato salad, stir fry chicken, miso soup and rice. The eggplant was my favourite. It is a 15 minute walk from the centre but worth the hike. A true hidden gem!
Yoshida served a delicious home cooked meal in a very cozy dining room. Although it wasn’t exactly clear what dishes would be included in the set (due to language barrier), we ate everything and loved the variety. Service was great and I’d definitely want to come back — highly recommended!
