Okazaki, Aichi, Japan｜Sansho

This was absolutely fantastic. We were visiting from Nagoya for the sakura festival and came for dinner at around 5:30. The restaurant was pretty empty so we were immediately served. The atmosphere is that of a long-established, family-run restaurant, and as such there’s a very comfortable and homely vibe that permeates the whole experience. Food is cheap, but that’s not at a detriment to the quality. Our meals were made fresh and piping hot while we waited which, though it took a while, wasn’t a negative in the slightest. When we were finally served, it was absolutely delicious. Tender, savory pork cutlet with delicious miso. A crunchy and fresh salad, perfectly cooked rice. The miso soup was hearty and rich, too. This was a phenomenal meal, and I really regret that I don’t live in Okazaki just so I could eat here more.

I had the tonkatsu set meal.The freshly fried tonkatsu was of course delicious and the rice went really well. The miso soup was also extremely delicious and the small bowls were delicious, and there were a lot of vegetables that came with the tonkatsu. This is a truly delicious, well-balanced set meal. I visited after 1:00 pm, and it was almost full, with more customers coming in and it was busy. Everyone ordered a variety of things, and I'm sure all of them were delicious. There are two private parking spaces in front of the store and parking lots 12 and 13 on the right side when looking from the store. There is a notice at the store entrance

There are very few restaurants along Route 1 in the center of Okazaki City, so I finally found this one on a map. Not only was the freshly fried cutlet delicious, but the well-balanced salad, small bowl of eggplant, and seasonal persimmon were all wonderful. Now 950 yen is too cheap! I was also impressed by the kind customer service. It was a store that I wanted to continue for a long time. Let's go everyone!
