Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan｜Suzunone

Cafe 涼の音 [Cafe ryo no oto: sound of coolness] is a nice cafe off the beaten path, actually off of a narrow path kind of hidden in the forest. They serve a delicious breakfast, and coffee and sweets through the afternoon. They are seldom crowded despite being a heritage site. A good place to go when Kyukaruizawa Ginza gets too crowded.

What a wonderful cafe... Suzu No Ne is located in a 100 or so year old summer house formerly owned by a number of historical figures in modern Japan. Surrounded by forest greenery, the atmosphere is quite and relaxing. The breakfast "Karuizawa Toast" (French Toast's name in Karuizawa) is deliciously covered in fruits and edible flowers. Lovely experience.
