Tomioka, Gunma, Japan｜Kanmidokorokamakura Tomiokaseishijomaeten

On my way back from Tomioka Silk Mill, I stopped by a shop that caught my eye. It is located right outside the gate of the silk mill. It seems like the shop is famous for warabi mochi. I was thirsty, so I had a warabi mochi drink. There was the regular menu of coffee milk, matcha, strawberry milk, and strawberry yogurt, as well as the seasonal roasted green tea marron latte. Each size came in regular size and S size. This time I ordered Kisetsu Gentei's marron latte and matcha. The matcha one had fresh cream on top. The marron latte had small chestnuts in the marron cream. Both teas are not sweet, but the warabi mochi is sweet, so it was just right.

Beautiful shop. I had matcha with warabi mochi. It's classy and sweet. I also bought warabi mochi as a souvenir. There are 5 pieces and 10 pieces in a paulownia box, sold separately. So delicious, I love it

I stopped by on my way back from a tour of Tomioka Silk Mill. I received 2 pieces of warabi mochi (350 yen). The traditional warabi mochi was topped with brown sugar syrup and soybean flour, and was chewy and delicious. In the summer, it seems like the option with ice cream (420 yen) is also good.
