Tochigi, Japan｜Funami Chaya

We actually came back to Tochigi just to eat here. It’s in the old part of town, on the river. The building is quite old and traditional, and on the walls are old photographs of the restaurant. The owner is very friendly. They sell a local style of katsu karee, with salad, desert and a drink for 1000¥. It is so tasty!

I visited for my first time sightseeing and had a light meal! Across from the Banagawa River, there is a storehouse that was used for filming in Jin, and the chimaki and shiso juice at this store were delicious. The sweetton was also delicious!

A charming little sweets shop near the Uzuma River pier (^-^) You can feel the history in the building, and the atmosphere is calm. We also sell food for the carp in the Uzuma River (50 yen), and while we were feeding the carp, we arrived at Anmitsu! In addition to sweets, there are sweet noodles and soba noodles, so you can enjoy both the atmosphere and light meals. My mother enjoyed oshiri and matcha, and I enjoyed cream anmitsu and matcha. I was warmed by the gentle sweetness. Mama is also kind and beautiful (^-^)
