Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan｜Porte Bonheaur

I loved this place, it's simple and friendly. My latte was awesome and pancakes swimming in butter ;-) They make them right in front of your very eyes, you can watch them grow on a hot plate.

Very homely ambience, friendly host and simple, yet delicious breakfast.

Visited for the pancakes. You can enter the building from either the front street or the back street. There are 4 parking spaces in the back of the building, 2 spaces x 2 (in tandem). There is also a convenience store to the south of the store, and about 3 cars can be parked further south. *If you tell them that you parked there, you will get a 100 yen discount. I thought the 1,000 yen price for the pancake set was a bit high (compared to other coffee shops), but the drinks seemed to be available from the regular menu, and the expensive items were okay. A single item costs around 600 yen, so when you look at it that way, it feels quite cheap. There are two pancakes with a diameter of about 14cm. It has a strong taste even without adding anything. You won't be able to use up the amount of syrup. If you order tea, it will be served in a pot, but there is enough for 4 teacups, which feels like a great deal. I've been to several shops that serve old-fashioned pancakes, and I think these are the best in the western part of the prefecture.
