Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo, Japan｜Odagaki Mamedo

2022.05 We stayed in Sasayama for the night before, and visited here before we left the city. We heard that this area is famous for Kuromame (black beans) and esp for this store named Odagaki. The shop was established with history back in 1734, and last year 2021 it opened a new cafe space serving desserts made with blackbeans and chestnuts. The best seats are the window seats, with a fabulous Japanese garden view. Recommended to arrive before 11:15am if you would like to secure your seat!!!

The quality of the beans is beyond belief. They are obviously ordinary beans, but they are so exquisite. It is unbelievable. Every time I come I buy some to take home.

I went to buy some black edamame and had some sweets at the cafe. The cafe seems to be very crowded on Saturdays and Sundays, so I recommend visiting on weekdays! The atmosphere was nice and the chestnut sweets were very delicious 😊 Since it was lunch time, I was worried about choosing a lunch plate, but I'm glad I chose sweets!
