I was able to take a train from Hiroshima to Mihara via the Kure Line. There was a Showa-era coffee shop a little west of the station's south exit, so I popped in and had lunch. The atmosphere of the store is that of a cafe from the Showa era, but the store is non-smoking, so there is no cigarette smell, and there is no odor typical of old buildings. There is music playing in the store in a calming atmosphere, and it doesn't disturb you so much that you can't remember what song it was afterwards. The master is an elderly man with an elegant and calm atmosphere. He serves customers in a gentle manner and does not talk too much. I ordered a sandwich set with a salad. (650 yen + 100 yen = 750 yen) The coffee has a mild and soft taste, but it is delicious. The sandwich was very delicious and the quantity was very satisfying. The salad comes with fruit, so the extra 100 yen is a good deal. The atmosphere of the shop, the master, and the coffee all have an unassuming elegance. I'm at a loss as to how to express the goodness of this store.
