More Comments at Google MapWe've had just one day in Onomichi and couldn't have found a better place for a delicious coffee! The service was great. The food and drinks were so carefully prepared. And the place itself was so atmospheric! You eat downstairs, where you literally overlook everything that is being prepared. There's room only for 6 people at the time. Later, you can bring your drink upstairs to enjoy it while sitting on the tatami flor and watching the railway tracks just behind the window. Loved it!
A rare gem of a café, carefully put together by its creative owner. As per the apt description, the dishes are camping-inspired, and they are painstakingly crafted right before your eyes, served in the pans they were made in (spoiler alert: they were delicious). The owner may not speak English, but has everything ready to welcome English speakers including menus and a comprehensive local area guide (with links to detailed Google maps walks). He also just makes you feel right at home! The space is just so inviting and calming and even though we had to wait for a while, it was not an issue. The photographs, magazines, manga books and overall décor (I counted 6 cameras hanging about the walls!) made for a very pleasant experience (almost reminiscent of a scene out of a Miyazaki movie). There is also an upstairs area where you can sit with a drink and watch the trains passing by.
Cute little camping inspired cafe. Everything made to order, so be patient, but worth the wait. Food was delicious, coffee was great. Host was very hospitable, and gave my friend with a gluten allergy an extra snack since she couldn't eat the toast.
