You need a reservation, so call ahead. You'll need some Japanese under your belt to navigate the menu and making a reservation but it's well worth it. The staff are pleasant and the master (always with a blue cap on) is a master on the grill. Excellent food for the adventurous or not. You can get beer here but I'd suggest the huge variety of sake or shochu from inside and outside Niigata. There's some umeshu as well.

A shop that is irresistible for Japanese sake lovers. Since I came all the way to Niigata, I wanted to go to a shop where I could drink sake, so I tried it because the word of mouth was good. That's the big hit! The store has a long cowder and table seats in the back. If you make a reservation in advance and sit at the counter and check the menu, there is nothing like it. Apparently, it was a shop where you choose from the menu on the wall. I kind of like this kind of thing. I chose sashimi platter 1600 yen, squid overnight dried 700 yen, shrimp puri 790 yen, and beer first. My honest impression is "It's so good!". The sashimi is voluminous, fresh and delicious, and the squid and shrimp are plump and make you smile. The beer was also cold and great. So, from the second cup is sake. Do you want to do that while looking at the 1.8 liter bottle in front of the counter? Shall we do this? I enjoyed it while watching the label. From the middle of the day, I ordered while listening to Niigata's recommended sake from my sister. I really had a blissful time. It is a shop that is confirmed to be revisited. The recommended mozuku was the best in my throat, and it was delicious for the first time in my life. I was very satisfied with all the dishes, such as salt-grilled silver cod, assorted sashimi, and aemono of myoga. There are various brands of Japanese sake, and I drank too much because of the recommendations.
