This place is loved by locals for good reason! Run by a 60 something man and his 90+ year old mother, you can get some unusual lunches here. The mugi toro set 麦とろ has barley rice which you eat with grated yam, good tofu, and an interesting squid and radish dish. Be sure to ask for plum wine (ume shu) straight or on the rocks, which is homemade and the touch of sweetness makes it almost like a brandy. If you can speak Japanese you just might make friends with the mix of locals and visitors who frequent here.

I went on a trip with the purpose of going here! It was a place that the person who took me was more than me, and I was deeply moved. Where are you from? Conversation starting with. They showed me the menu, but I left it all up to the chef, and the dishes served were all local dishes unique to Aizu that I couldn't eat in the countryside. And a pleasant conversation with the general. I wanted to drink all the time, eat slowly, and enjoy conversation because my knowledge was too deep... I went home with a warm feeling while shedding tears. And the next day's lunch, I shrewdly asked for it, ate it, and went home again. I will definitely go again!

Anyway, lean horse sashimi is delicious! The simmered appetizer is also the best. The yam tempura was so well made that I was speechless! I'm glad to have a glass of warm sake, but I also enjoy a pleasant conversation with my father.
