Mashiko, Tochigi, Japan｜Small bakery Emipan

I happened to come across this while heading to a pottery class on a trip. I visited around 2:30pm on a Sunday, and it was raining, so I was able to enter without lining up. We had side dish koppepan and fried bread, and they were so chewy and fluffy that my husband and I couldn't help but refill them lol. Embarrassingly, I also forgot my wallet on the bench outside, but the store clerk was there to keep it for me, which was really helpful. At that time, they all gave me lots of warm words and wrapped me some extra bread, and everyone was wonderful! I plan to come again when I visit Mashiko again.

Customers were lining up as soon as the store opened. It's a small store, so it feels like you can enter when one group leaves. Coppepan is soft and small and delicious to eat as is, but you can add your favorite cream or margarine to it on the spot. For the side dish bread, I bought a Mexican sauce shrimp sandwich and a ham and cheese coppépan. Both were light and delicious. For seasonal jams, I bought peach and apple jams when they were on sale. It had a lot of pulp and was the best jam I've ever bought. The scones were also delicious and not too sweet. The staff's response was also good.

Homemade bread is fluffy and delicious. I will always buy it when I come to Mashiko. Excellent taste.
