Minakami, Gunma, Japan｜Suzumori Hot Spring

I’m posting this review reluctantly because I want to keep this beautiful hidden gem to myself. It is one of the most amazing onsen I’ve been to. The outdoor onsen is set in front of gentle running river, surrounded by snow covered trees and air of peacefulness. We spent hours here soaking up the tranquility of it all. Love love love this place.

Only dinner at this place .. very delicious. I'll be back soon for onsen and food; fish barbeque ... luv it so much 😘 ... Minakami is my favorite place in Japan

Loved this onsen, went two nights in a row when in Minakami over the Obon holiday. Can get a bit crowded and the parking lot can fill up, but clears out a few hours before closing. The hours were actually really confusing though, so might be good to call and check their last entry and closing times before going. Lovely riverside outdoor bath is actually almost under the highway bridge, but you don't really notice it. Best thing was the lukewarm bath that you can really relax in -- especially since I do not particularly like scalding water baths.
