Shibuya City, Tokyo, Japan｜Jaken Nou - Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki

AUTHENTIC JAPANESE RESTAURANT... We were lucky to find this. It's on the 9th floor and we got to sit in the front of the hot plates. Not the most comfortable seat, but it gave us an opportunity to interact with staff, practice our Japanese and watch how they made all the meals. Incredibly busy, the staff took time to answer any questions we had and Google translate was our best friend. We had okonimiyaki with beer and a fabulous white wine. When you go, make sure you have some sort of translate app as everything is in Japanese. They were very accommodating as I requested my egg be baked on top of my okonimiyaki and asked for smaller noodles. They happily obliged. Good food, great staff (if you're prepared to get their attention and interact) and great atmosphere. Thanks for a great night out!

Very good service and much better taste than the okonomiyaki place down the street. The other place also was overpriced compared to this one. This one is down a less traveled street and doesn't seem to have many foreigners going in and out of it.

Very cosy place. The staff is mildly friendly but the food is amazing. We were 4 and we tried 4 different okonomiyakis. We also recommend the oysters! Definitely a place to return!
