I ordered Hiroshima Okonomiyaki with my husband and it was delicious. I’ve had this kind of okonomiyaki before, and it tasted just like I remembered. It’s fun to watch the food cook right in front of you. The workers were extremely kind and efficient. I recommend this place!!

When anyone - whether a Japanese local or a foreign visitor -asks me to recommend a restaurant in Tokyo, I always give them the same answer, "Kurumi in Kagurazaka". For 3 or 4 years, I spent most Sunday evenings eating here with my brother, always a highlight of my week! The atmosphere was fantastic, we were always warmly welcomed and felt like valued customers. If possible, I recommend getting a bar seat to watch the chefs cook your meal - just be careful not to drool on the grill as you watch with greedy excitement. The food itself? Without doubt the best Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki I have ever tasted.

Extremely delicious okonomiyaki (savory cabbage pancake). Recommended to us for lunch by our Tokyo Greeter who showed us around the neighborhood. Owners were friendly and spoke some English with us, even bonded over Chicago Fire! Really fun to watch the elements of the pancake cooked in front of us on the hibachi then served straight from there as well. Taro appetizer also turned us on to the vegetable we ate throughout the rest of the trip. One of our favorite meals in Tokyo Lovely experience highly recommend.
