Highly highly recommend Yoshikawa! We just arrived in Nippori and were super hungry so we saw this place on Google and decided to give it a try and I'm so glad we did!! Yoshikawa is a small okonomiyaki business run by an older gentlemen who is so kind and you can tell he us very passionate about his craft. When we asked what his recommendation was, he replied "Everything" which shows just proud he is of his work! We were clearly new to cooking okonomiyaki and monja but he took it in stride and helped us every step of the way! He demonstrated how to cook and properly eat the food and even came back to ask us if everything was good! Sadly, there was a language barrier but that didn't stop him from doing his absolute best to accommodate us and give us the best service. He used his little pocket translator to communicate with us and we were so grateful of his efforts to serve us. If you want some authentic okonomiyaki prepared by the kindest chef, then Yoshikawa is the place to go!! Enjoy some authentic Japanese food in a quaint little restaurant!! Additional points for all the cool baseball player signatures decorating all the walls of the restaurant!!

If you like baseball, this is the store you should go to. I also enjoy discussing baseball with my husband. Currently, the owner is working alone, so you may have to wait even if you order, but please take it easy and enjoy your meal.

I went in after seeing a stylish sign in a very quiet place. It is run by an old man. I was grateful that they were very kind from beginning to end and shared a lot of stories along the way. The taste was very delicious too If I'm looking for a monjayaki restaurant in Nippori again, I think I'll definitely go to Yoshikawa.
