As a tourist and westerner, one of the things I wanted to do in Lake Kawaguchi was to find a local butcher, get some meat and have a BBQ while watching the sun set over Mt Fuji and this local butcher delivered! For nearly $70 AUD we got enough meat for 4 people and used Google Translate to confirm what cuts of meat we were getting and how best to cook it. Listen to the local and their instructions because it came out perfectly and we enjoyed a feast while we sat and enjoyed a quiet night in. Thank you so much!

We bought one of the best wagyu meat we had in Japan from this small butcher shop! The meat was flavorful and so tender! The staff at the shop were really friendly and kind and didn’t mind that we need only a small amount of meat for our dinner of 2! Highly recommend this shop!

Despite having to make a reservation in advance by phone, I only found out about the restaurant after arriving near Lake Kawaguchi, so when I called the restaurant to no avail, the president kindly prepared some horse sashimi for me. The horse sashimi is freshly cut and chewy, and the more you bite into it, the more flavor you get, so you won't be able to stop eating the hometown tax donation horse sashimi. It was so fresh that my daughter, who is almost 3 years old, made her debut with horse sashimi and was hooked on it and ate it up and down. In addition, I was asked to prepare some meat for the BBQ, and they were very helpful in adding flavors that matched the meat, and it was delicious. In our case, commercially available yakiniku would all taste the same with just one sauce, but we were able to create a higher-grade BBQ. The president was also charming and it was interesting to interact with the male staff! I would like to take care of you again when you go to Lake Kawaguchi. In that case, I will call you in advance!
