Very, very expensive, but the taste is superb and moreish. Definitely a good place to go for weekend occasions. Serving time is a bit on slow side, but thats understandable considering the type of food. Your meal's meat is grilled on flame and its openly displayed, it's a good sight to look at while waiting and oh, enjoy the smell.

I went to Kandon for lunch recently and wish I had found this place sooner. They serve kalbi beef gyudon, so if you like beef over rice then this is a must try. It’s a chain restaurant but they aren’t as spread out as other more well known chains like Yoshinoya etc. I ordered the large size of their normal kalbi don and it was prepared very quickly and efficiently and came heaped with beef, cabbage and onions. It was very delicious and tasted a little different compared to Matsuya/Sukiyaki. The beef was a little more thick and the taste was a little more smoky and sweet too. It was delicious 👍 They also have a self serve water and cold tea machine so you can help to add much if that as you’d like which is nice. It’s located in the Higashi Okayama area so it’s still not close but it’s worth the trip. I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you very much! 5*

I went there for the first time because I had been curious about it for a while. I ordered the kimchi galbi bowl. I ordered a large portion...it was huge. I'm full! The richly seasoned rice bowl went well with the soup and was delicious.
