Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, Japan｜Yonomori

Highly recommend this restaurant. The quality is excellent and flavours are fresh and delicious (with some new unique tastes too!). All the mains were delicious. Pictured below: 1) Their signature straw-smoked Kanika Bonito (make sure you take a bite with all the toppings!) 2) Sashimi Salad (with a delicious mild wasabi dressing) 3) The Octopus Seaweed with Wasabi starter in shot glass 3) Assorted Oden (with yuzu pepper and hot mustard), and my favourite 4) The Spicy Dipping Ramen w onsen Egg. Their black sesame ice cream with soy-bean flour and brown sugar syrup (similar to golden syrup) was soooo good. Cherry Ice cream was good too, but Black Sesame was the best dessert. Drinks were reasonably priced and while we spent a bit more than usual it was much higher quality of food and service. They played nice relaxing music too. We wished we had a bigger group so we could try all the oysters and yakitori as well! 100% would come back. Very fast service, appreciate the instructions and english menu on tablet!

Went there on a weeknight and we went straight in. The restaurant was spacious and bright. Food was very good and excellent value for money. Portion was beyond expectation. Highly recommend the fried oysters which was crispy outside and super juicy inside (cooked just right). Staff was attentive and polite.

It is a restaurant worthy of five-star praise, so I have to leave a message. Last night, I went to a restaurant with a much higher rating next door recommended by the so-called Xiaohongshu, and was very disappointed. Fortunately, my husband insisted on booking this restaurant in advance on the way back to the hotel, and the result was amazing. Perfect production, reasonable price, sashimi, straw-smoked bonito, fried oysters, grilled oysters, various skewers, two pots of salad, three different warm sake (including a pot of yamori bone wine, whole grilled fish Soaked sake) black flax ice cream, all dishes, all satisfied. One of the best value restaurants on our trip to Japan. Thanks for the perfect Christmas dinner!
