Okayama, Japan｜Megu Shabu-shabu & Sukiyaki

I wanted a "hotpot" for one and that's not the easiest thing to find. After some Google research, I found Megu. I arrived around 11.20am and I was the first customer. It's a Monday so it was quite quiet. I was welcomed by one of the 2 female staff. Yay for all female crew. The staff were very courteous and friendly and even you tried speaking some English to me. An English menu was brought and quickly explained. I had the Special Lunch set with udon and shabu shabu option. It was good. Service was great, food was tasty and I was given my space to enjoy my food with service coming when needed (like topping up the water, explaining how I should eat, what were the dipping sauces etc). I would totally recommend this place.

Amazing experience and food! We went for Chiya beef - the meat was super tender, flavourful, and melts in your mouth. Both sukiyaki & shabu-shabu versions were equally mind-blowing. Special mention to the owners who were so hospitable and made us feel very welcome. They went out of the way to provide us with recommendations despite the language barrier. We greatly appreciate the food as well as the dining experience!

Excellent beef and dinner set meal! We had 2 beef plates with beef from 3 different regions in japan! Service staff were v friendly and even though they didn’t speak much English (there was an English menu) they explained each set to us. V recommended.
