One of the best eel rices I've ever had! Delicious, perfectly grilled and sauce eel cooked fresh in front of you. You can get it in either Kanto style (east, steamed then grilled) or Kansai (west, completely grilled over charcoal). You can even go half and half if you can't decide. If you choose counter seating, you get to watch it being grilled. The service is excellent and the chef is friendly and highly skilled. There is no English menu, but it's a straight forward menu and they are welcoming and friendly to foreigners. The main items are different sized portions of eel (0.5, 1, 1.5) on rice in either east or west style (as described above). Pick your portion size and you can't go wrong!

This place is a hidden gem. The restaurant is not easy to find, but the search is worthy. The chef is a master in cooking eel, he is doing this for over 50 years since he was 16. We tried both kanto (eastern Japan) and Kansai (western Japan) style of eel rice, both are perfectly grilled. The eel egg roll is very good too. The chef and the staff are very friendly. This is a place you must visit if you want to have grilled eel rice.

A hidden gem in Sapporo city ! The hospitality were so good ! I had a mix flavour of unagi , kanto and kansai. Both taste good , please try it with the sasho powder, it enhanced the flavour so well ! The hot drinks they provided is called soba tea, it was so nice to drink during winter . Ordered local Hokkaido warm sake, I like it so much ! And it paired with eel’s gizzard as a snacks . I had a wonderful conversation with the lady staff , she speaks English very well. What a wonderful night !
