This is a store I've been interested in for a long time. First of all, I was interested in the old building itself, and when I asked about it, I learned that it was originally an inn built in the Meiji era, but was later modified into a Japanese restaurant. It is said that the company was founded in the 2nd year of Ansei. When I was led to my seat, there was a long hallway where there was a fish tank where the eel that I was about to eat was kept quiet. It seems like everything is made after an order is placed. What was originally a guest room has been covered with hardwood floors so you can eat at the table. The feeling of a fusion of Japanese and Western styles remains throughout. By the way, I also rented a toilet, which had been renovated and was now very clean. I ordered Fukusuke Donburi. If I had extra pocket money, I would have loved to eat the best. It's made after the order is placed, so there's a long wait. If you sit by the window, you can enjoy the garden, so you won't get bored while waiting. By the way, since I was Okugawa, I enjoyed the calligraphy that hung in the alcove. In the meantime, it was brought to me. Although it is certainly small in volume, the flavor is condensed accordingly. I think tastes are divided, but it was rather juicy. The sauce is also important, so I think this is better. The eel is very soft. It melted in your mouth like ice cream. Between the rich sauce, a faint aroma wafts through the air. It also came with steamed egg custard and a dessert after the meal, which were also quite delicious. Eating while admiring a historic property is quite enjoyable. And you won't be able to experience it anywhere else. When I asked to take a photo, the proprietress-like person kindly agreed. On the ceiling of the entrance, you can admire a very valuable piece of work carved into the Chinese zodiac, which was a lucky charm left by a shrine carpenter at the time. The landlady told us about this place. Isn't the real pleasure of traveling not only in the taste but also in savoring the history? The price may be a little high, but I think it's worth stopping by.

The eel is so soft that it melts in your mouth. There is an air conditioner, but the room felt hot.

I visited around 13:30 on a weekday. There were no other customers. It's my favorite pre-Showa retro building, and it's a historic restaurant that was built as a Japanese-style inn during the Meiji period. The infection control measures were perfect, and this was the first time I was even asked to wash my hands. It was a restaurant I wanted to visit someday, and the beer I drank when I was taken to my room was very delicious. I ordered eel bowl and pork kabayakiju, and as I looked around the room, I saw a POP for a toast set, so I hurriedly ordered the toast set and fried loach. The eel bowl arrived in about 30 minutes. It's fluffy. ``Delicious'' The grilled pork is also ``delicious.'' I can understand the high price. The staff at the store were very polite and I had a wonderful time. The secret sauce was on sale at the register, so I bought it and took it home. After this, I took a tipsy retro walk in front of Ogawamachi Station.
