To-die-for grilled Unagi in an island of peace and calm in bustling Ueno. The all-female staff was welcoming and the food was flawless. Traditional down to the tatami floor—with chairs—and polished wood (and patient food preparation, which requires a half-hour to reach meltingly delicious perfection). They have an English menu and at least one of the charming wait staff spoke good English. Highly recommended.

Great small japanese restaurant you can easily overlook. It's a bit pricey but overall very lovely restaurant staffed by four old ladies and one chef.
