Chichibu, Saitama, Japan｜Myoken

This was a lovely shop, and one of the few that was open late. We had a relatively large group of foreigners, but felt very welcome. Although the menu is only in Japanese, they had a lot of food models outside, so one of our group went out to take pictures so we had an idea of what to order. Although one of our orders had a slight mix-up (sushi instead of sashimi), everything we ate was Fabulous! We also enjoyed some hot sake, chatted briefly with another patron, and enjoyed our meal without feeling rushed. When the bill came we asked about the mix up to make sure we were being charged for the correct meal, and the staff were so apologetic for the mistake, even though we weren't bothered at all as all the food had been fabulous and perfectly portioned! The staff also gave us some lovely chopstick souvenirs to make up for our trouble (which wasn't necessary as the food was more than enough to make up for any small errors). Totally unexpected and very kind of them! The staff didn't appear to speak much (if any) English, but the food speaks for itself!! Definitely give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

I wanted to have a delicious lunch, so I went to Myoken for the first time in a while. I had the fried shrimp set meal. 3 large fried shrimp, fried eggplant and peppers, boiled satsumaage, small bowl of bean sprouts, salted squid, vinegared seaweed, pickles, rice and miso soup. Fried shrimp was crispy and very delicious 😊 I was able to eat slowly in a spacious space. I thought it would have been better if I had a seat where I could put my feet down. I want to go eat again 😀

I used it for lunch with my mother during GW. My mother had the Unaju and I had the Torimeshiju. My mother ate all the rice because the unaju sauce was sweet and delicious. Torimeshi heavy chicken was very soft and the sauce was also sweet and delicious. I asked if there was miso potato for the draft beer knob, but unfortunately there was no miso potato, so I ordered only draft beer, but they served me a side dish for the set meal. I would like to have sushi and tempura next time.
