The staff were very nice and tried to understand what I wanted. Menu has pictures for most things but no English. This place feels like a real locals joint. I got two yakitori sets and, after looking at the other tables, 3 side dishes. When you first sit down they ask if you're driving/not drinking and drivers get a complimentary drink. The lemonade was really good. All for just around $20! I came around 7pm on a Friday and the was no wait.

It's cheap. It's cheap no matter what you eat tastes normal If it's normal and cheap, it's great.

You can enjoy eel bowl at a reasonable price. It had a retro-style izakaya-like appearance, and it didn't seem like they specialized in eel. Rather, it is mainly a pub business, and the lunch business gives the impression that it is a hidden gem. It was quite empty, but I was satisfied with both the taste and the portion size, and my impression is that I'd rather eat here than the eel bowls that gyudon chains sometimes offer.
