Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, Japan｜Tomifuji

This was by far the best meal I had during our trip to Mt Fuji. The elderly couple that runs the place are absolutely amazing, can’t believe the standard is so high! We went there for dinner at around 5.30pm and were the only ones there at the time, but strangely enough another group of 4 came in after us but were turned away by the owner, guess we were lucky. A few other groups of 2 came after them and were allowed in, so my advice is to go early if you’re in a big group. All the dishes come with a hearty crab miso soup which is rare and really tasty! Everything was really good value for money, so will definitely come back again!

I picked the cheapest dish in the menu which is a katsudon at 900 yen and it was honestly the best katsudon I’ve ever tasted. They caramelised the onion perfectly!!

Homey restaurant, providing wholesome Japanese meals. We came here for dinner and ordered unagi don and sushi dish. Each dish is also served with flavorful crab soup. There were 2 other tables who were finishing their meals. As we were leaving at about 8pm another group came in and the owner said the place is closed. Overall, we had an enjoyable soulful meals here and will come back again.
