More Comments at Google MapI'm not an unagi connoisseur, but I do know what I like, and this place checked all the boxes for what I like. It was not totally totally covered in sauce, but had excellent flavor. It has a lite crispy surface and had the perfect amount of char (to me). Could not decide which way I liked it better, just with rice or the ochazuke. It's a good thing I don't live in Nagoya, or I might go broke from eating here too often. It's a small place so get there early. A line forms soon after opening
I stopped by during a trip. It's nice to have a parking lot, although it's not a lot. Even if the parking lot is full, there is no problem as there is a parking lot nearby. We used it for lunch with 4 adults. Since this is a long-established Hitsumabushi restaurant, I ordered Hitsumabushi and Shirayaki. I had heard that the eel in Nagoya is crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and that's exactly what I heard. The aroma of the charcoal and the sweet, thick sauce were a perfect match and it was delicious. Kameya had a wide variety of dishes other than eel, so I wanted to order those as well. If I have a chance to come next time, I would like to enjoy a variety of menu items for dinner.
I had Unajyu and Hitsumabushi. The sauce is light and you can add additional sauces, so you can change the flavor to suit your taste. I think it will satisfy everyone from young people to the elderly. As this is a popular restaurant, advance reservations are recommended.
