More Comments at Google MapWhile most of the unagi & Hitsumabushi shops are less evaluated for cost efficiency, this shop marks really high for its large portion for price. The smallest bowl they offer is unagi-don with about 1800 yen, and it had 4 to 5 large pieces of unagi with rice. As a foreigner I always have a hard time not eating up unagi first and match the ratio between rice and unagi, but here I didn’t have to care about it because there were plenty of meat. My partner had Hitsumabushi, and it was also a wonder too with the side of green tea, scallion and wasabi. It’s rather a small shop so you have to head it early before it becomes full of guests and runs out of unagi as seemed like it happens often. But, considering the quality, portions and price, this restaurant is really worth waiting.
I had the 上丼 jōdon and 刺身 sashimi, and I think it cost around 3000 yen if I remember right. Seemingly no English menu and no pictures on the menu either, which I guess would be my only complaint. But the staff were very friendly with good service, and the food tasted great at a relatively cheap price for grilled eel.
You can have delicious eel at a reasonable price. The surface is slightly crispy and the inside is soft. The sauce is a little sweet and you can eat it refreshingly. Depending on the time of day, you can also see them lined up. The atmosphere of the shop is calm.
