This is simply a wonderful local sushi shop. It is run by an old sushi chef and his wife. It is a small place, but the chef is attentive, and his wife offers warm-welcoming, lovely service. If you are intimidated by the Japanese sign and menu, don’t be. Just come in, sit down and point at the sushi set. The chef will serve you whatever were caught that day, and you will not regret a single bite you take.

The delicious country sushi and the relaxing atmosphere made it a wonderful memory of my trip! To Tateyama for sightseeing during the Obon period in 2023. This is one of the restaurants recommended by the tourist information center at the station, saying, "Lunch, within walking distance, and seafood." I don't have a lot of opportunities to eat country sushi, so I went to Shirahamaya head office. It takes less than 10 minutes on foot from the station. I arrived at exactly 11:00 and there was a sign that it was open, so I went into the store. As soon as I entered, there was no clerk, and when I called out, I heard a voice from the back saying, ``Please wait a little while because the eggs are being cooked right now.'' After a while, the general came trotting (Later, the regulars were worried that the general was sweating. It seems that he was sweating during the midsummer tamagoyaki preparation). I was guided to the counter and ordered 8 pieces of local fish sushi. The general will hold it in front of you. The taste and characteristics of sushi are as others have written. There may be more women (I ate it all up, but I usually eat more than the average woman). The general manager asks, "Is it okay if the rice is big in rural sushi?" If you are worried, let's discuss the menu! I especially liked the black abalone, kinmedai, grilled mackerel, and meichidai. Isn't the story of the photo amazing at this price? The general will write a memo with handwritten material and give it to you. You can eat while watching, so it tastes even better. Is the building old and the interior of the store? has a slightly miscellaneous image, but the seasonal menu board handwritten by the general (the kanji for all the fish names is also nice), the kitchen and the counter on the eating side feel clean. Two regulars came in the middle of the day and enjoyed drinking, snacks, sushi and conversation with the generals. It's not like it's hard for tourists to stay because of the inner circle atmosphere, and the conversation between the general and the regulars was heartwarming. The chef kindly talked to us about sushi toppings, and it was a delicious and fun lunch. I would like to visit again when I go to Tateyama.
