Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan｜Kotobuki Coffee

This was an absolutely delightful little nook of peace and quiet mixed with ambient instrumental music of a cafe shop! The rustic interior design and cozy feel of the cafe makes you feel like a trip back in time to a more peaceful era. The staff was absolutely wonderful and helpful in explaining menu items that surprised me and made me feel very welcome. The Gorgonzola cheese bread is a must have!! The richness and creamy texture and softly toasted bread really complete the coffee experience here if you don’t have a chance to try their wonderful cakes and other baked items! My wife and I are not fans of the cigarette smells but I feel at 10:00am it was not overpowering and the coffee fragrance dominates it a little bit. The delicate style of coffee preparation produces extremely smooth coffee without any burnt aftertaste most places have. The special coffee of the day was a strong bitter but nutty flavor to the palate and with milk it added a robust and deliciously strong flavor to the coffee. The honey latte was a new flavor to try and I found it to be very confusing to my tongue hahahaha. Despite the sweet and bitter flavors fighting each other, the foamy and smooth coffee I feel would be an excellent pair for the cheesecakes. 9/10 LOVE this place! (I am not a smoker)

What an oasis. We opted for the hot chocolate which was divine. Not to mention the baked cheesecake with figs…yum

We didn't get the English menu but used Google translate just fine. Ordered a cappuccino and an Irish coffee. The atmosphere was beautiful and the way they made our drinks was impeccable. Would 100% reccomend! 🚬 It is smoking acceptable so there was a person smoking in the Café area, but it did not bother us at all.
