Kobe, Hyogo, Japan｜Ippei

Our first night in Kobe on our honeymoon and we wandered into this wonderful place. We wanted great tasting okonomiyaki and we were not disappointed. Despite our lack of speaking Japanese the two owners and a friendly customer made us feel welcomed instantly. It can be intimidating to wander into smaller restaurants in Japan and it means a lot to be treated with such kindness. The two owners reminded me of my grandparents and their food was made with the same attention to detail and freshness I remember growing up. What a fantastic meal and memory we gained tonight.

The sujidama is exquisite. The sweetness of finely chopped cabbage The sweet and spicy tendon goes well with it. With the chewy texture of chopped konnyaku The perfect harmony of fluffy fabrics

This is the best okonomiyaki in Kobe~~👍
