Hiroshima style okonomiyaki at its best! I tried the veggie/meat and veggie/meat with udon- both were great! also enjoyed a cold beer or two;) I will be back again for more!

[Check Point] ■A popular okonomiyaki restaurant within walking distance from Hiroshima Station, selected as one of the 100 Famous Restaurants ■Waiting time: 1 hour, arrival at 11:30 on Saturday Okonomiyaki Tatsu was one of the most delicious okonomiyaki I've had in Hiroshima. A store that appears in a residential area about 8 minutes walk from Hiroshima Station. From the outside, there is a red lantern on the first floor of a detached house. The interior is a small space with a counter and tatami seats in the back, and only about 3 to 4 groups can enter at a time. I arrived right after it opened at 11:30, but it was full by the first turn and there were 3 groups waiting, so I waited an hour before entering. You will be asked for the order menu before entering the store. When you enter the store, you'll find the owner sweating at the counter as he carefully crafts each piece one by one. There were a lot of ONE PIECE figures and manga, so we got excited talking about them and enjoyed the time when the baking was done in a homely atmosphere. The menu we received is as follows. ■Meatball soba 850 yen Toppings: egg, perilla, cheese The okonomiyaki is carefully grilled without any unevenness, and the cabbage remains tender and has a nice sweetness, and the thin batter and toppings make it a perfect balance with the egg, making it simply delicious! You can enjoy the aroma of the perilla leaves and the richness of the cheese as they appear here and there. Change the taste with mayonnaise, mustard mayo, and spicy sauce. ■Yakisoba 850 yen The yakisoba noodles, which were made with simple ingredients of cabbage and green onions, were also delicious.
