Nozawaonsen, Nagano, Japan｜Minato

My favourite izakaya in nozawaonsen, you would need to make reservations during ski season. Everything we ordered was delicious and the shirako and sashimi was splendid - can’t be missed. Food and drink was well-priced. Highly recommend Minato for one of your dinners in nozawa!

Quiet and cosy izakaya. We had nabe, grilled fish, horse sashimi, fried locust and bees. I think the foods we had are from the local area (Shinshu area), and the cuisine is also local.

The best Izakaya in Nozawa! The lady/boss takes orders and serves food by herself. She is so lovely and cute. As it was empty due to covid, it was sad but we were lucky we could have a good conversation with her! It's right in front of Furusato no Yu. The seafood is amazingly fresh and the quality of meat are amazing too. It's sooooooo tasty. They're getting the best ingredients from Nagano and the Japanese sea area. Ok the menu is not so much but it looks only one or two people were working in the kitchen. We went twice during our stay and we will definitely come back!
