Okayama, Japan｜Sushi Ichi

The chef and his wife were so nice to me. They were very helpful and welcoming. The shop is a very authentic, Japanese restaurant. It's rare to see a foreigner but I felt very comfortable there. The sushi is incredibly tasty. The price is good too

We are foreigners visiting from USA and our Airbnb recommended this place. I am so glad that they did. The owners were very welcoming and had a great selection of sushi with great prices. They spoke little English but were very patient with us when we tried to speak Japanese. They also recommended us places to visit during our time in Okayama and Japan. We ordered a nigiri platter with tuna and salmon rolls. Everything was so good especially the Harami! We ended up coming again the very next day to order the Katsudon and the rolls again. Lots of laughs were shared and this will be one of my favorite memories in Japan. We deeply appreciate their hospitality and look forward to when we visit again!

We had the most fantastic evening at Sushi Ichi! This charming little restaurant is run by a lovely family. We really enjoyed meeting them, and the absolutely delicious food. We tried the sushi set and the donburi - both were excellent. It's rare to come across such a good local restaurant with very reasonable prices. Next time we're in Okayama, it will be the first place we visit.
