Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan｜Sushi Yoshi

We went to this place by chance as it was around the corner from where we were staying. Although it was a ~30 min wait, it was so worthwhile! This small but quaint joint is run by an elderly couple who are incredibly hard working and friendly. Despite some things being out of stock, everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. So good that we ordered some things twice! We were so wrapped up in the intimate experience of watching our sushi being prepared and the micro interactions between the couple. Highly recommend coming here for an intimate and authentic dining experience! A few things to note; Expect a wait if you’re going at dinner time. They may close early so make yourself known when you get there even if there is a line. And bring cash!

This was the best sushi I've tasted in a long time. The owners are the sweetest most affable elderly couple who served up fresh sushi.

Delicious sushi at incredibly reasonable prices! Super friendly owners, and made really good recommendations on which varieties of seafood to try. Definitely worth a visit!
