Nagahama, Shiga, Japan｜Umiza Nagahama

I visited a while ago as an exchange student from Seattle. Being a conveyor belt store (回転寿司), service was very hands-off. But the sushi was very fresh and tasted great and costs were reasonable.

This former conveyor belt sushi restaurant still has lanes, but the system is such that orders are placed using a touch panel, and the staff hands out the sushi each time. Compared to restaurants in the lower price range, the toppings are slightly larger and the rice is very fluffy. It goes without saying that the toppings are delicious, but personally, I like the way the sushi melts easily in your mouth. Even when it's crowded, you don't have to wait long for your products, and even though it looks busy, it looks consistent, and you'll never miss a topic. Also, there are different toppings depending on seasonal products and availability, so you can enjoy them each time. (Bintoro is not a seasonal product or anything, so it quickly runs out of stock.) You can enjoy sushi at low-priced restaurants, and I think the cost performance is pretty good, but I feel like Kaiza is definitely more delicious.

I wanted to eat sushi near my hotel while staying in Nagahama, so I went here for dinner on the weekend. I went there after 5pm, and it was a popular restaurant with more than half of the seats occupied. The prices were reasonable, the ingredients were delicious, and the menu was plentiful. The store staff were polite and kind in their explanations. This is a restaurant I would like to visit again when I come to Nagahama.
