Okayama, Japan｜Hasunomi

This was the restaurant I was most looking forward to during my trip to Japan, and my expectations became a complete reality. Pairing 13 dishes and 11 glasses of wine... it was a very happy evening thanks to the chef's passion and sincerity. The chef's reinterpretation of Chinese cuisine and the matching wine pairing made it impossible to stop shouting until after 11 glasses. Thank you, chef, for giving me another reason to visit Okayama, which I love so much!

A quiet Chinese restaurant located a little south of Momotaro Boulevard. The menu is only a course meal of 10,000 yen (as of April 2022 visit) The seats are counter seats in front of the kitchen and table seats, which are designed to look like a Japanese kappo restaurant and have a very stylish feel. Although the quantity of each dish was small, there were many, and each dish was well-thought out and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Drinks include not only Chinese liquors such as Shaoxing wine, but also Japanese sake and wine. You can enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner with great customer service from the staff.

The Chinese food here is really good! I used to come to the neighboring Nomura often to eat demi-katsudon, but I had no idea there was such a famous restaurant so close by. Although it was Chinese food, it had a very gentle taste. Each item was carefully prepared and served carefully, unlike popular Chinese food, and I was able to enjoy a very satisfying meal! I definitely want you to try the Chinese food here!
