Even though it's already mid-September, it's still hot, so I visited Taiseiken for some chilled soba noodles. I visited after 1:20 p.m., but the place was full and I had to wait a few minutes. I ordered the summer-limited chilled soba set. The noodles of the chilled tori soba are firm and the soup is also very cold. It has a mild salty taste, and later the sourness of the lemon and kimchi makes it taste just right. What surprised me was how delicious the half-fried rice was! I thought the green pea one was definitely the one with Naruto in it, but this one is really good! The fried rice was exactly what you'd expect from a local Chinese restaurant.It had a gentle, eggy flavor. They also have my favorite zaru Chinese food, and I was also interested in the seasonal recommended mapo tanmen. When I asked the lady working there, she said that the seasonal items are only available until November (the hiyashi chuka may end earlier). However, even if mapo tanmen is not on the menu, they will make it for you if you order it. I was shown to a tatami room in the back, and it was quite spacious, with 3 round tables and about 4 table seats that could seat 6 to 8 people, so it looked like it could be used for banquets. I think the lunch beer was 210 yen, but when I checked out, I was told that it was free during lunch. This also surprised me. The service is also great, such as handing out candy to children. With the discovery of such famous restaurants, I can't stop touring the town's Chinese cuisine (pilgrimage to sacred places). I think I'll try Mabotanmen next time.
