Hayama, Kanagawa, Japan｜Sushiya no Kitcho

Chef Mori has been a sushi chef for 60 years - in Hawaii, Tokyo, Yokohama and Hayama. He's been at this location for close to 30 years. He has a great story - and don't forget to ask him about the pics of motorcycles by the entrance. He designed the western house to be different - so people would be curious why sushi is in a German-like house. Not sure that works but he is quite eccentric that way. He is a man who introduced how to use avocado in Japan - in particular, the early version of California rolls to Japanese households. He has a TV video to prove it. Pretty wild. Japan didn't even have salmon back then. Good sushi. I ordered the Ume set (cheapest 2500 yen set) which was great. I added a piece of Uni later (which is a bit expensive at 900 yen for 2 pieces but worth it for the quality). I will be back.

Best Sushi in town. We go there regularly. Staff is welcoming and hospitable.

I had it for lunch. It was very delicious, but I felt it was a little less for men. I was very satisfied with the price range and the size of the story.
