If you ever come visited Ko-Edo Kawagoe and feeling you are up for good sushi, this is the place for you. You’ll have to take one stop ride from Hon-Kawagoe-Eki station on Seibu-Shinjuku line to Minami-Otsuka Station. Just one stop ride and you won’t have to worry about the direction cuz Hon-Kawagoe-Eki is the end of the line. Once yo get off at Minami Otsuka Station, you might wanna ask for the side for taxi pick up, Taxi-Noriba. It will be like a 5min ride although you can easily walk but you kinda wanna make sure you’ll get to Kosaku no Mise Sushi. Since it will a short and easy ride, try to remember the route so you can walk back to Minami Otsuka station rather than asking for calling Taxi to get back to The station. Just watch out when you are crossing busy Route 16, make sure to cross appropriate crossing point. There might be a pedestrian bridge there but I can’t remember. If you aren’t sure what to order at Kosaku’s, just tell the lady(okami San) or Chef (Taisho) your budget, things you wanna avoid if any, and leave all to the chef. Trust me, they offer the best in the area and you’ll love it, and it will be a very worthy adventure!

This is a hidden gem kinda away from common touristy destinations! If anyone ever came out to visit Kawagoe for a day trip, take Seibu Shinjuku line Hon-Kawagoe station to Minami-Otsuka station: the first stop from Hon-Kawagoe... maybe a mile walk from Minami-Otsuka station cross Route 16: you won’t believe you’ll find a sushi restaurant that can beat the bests in Ginza for far less of the price tag! A, there’s a police-box right out of Minami-Otsuka station so world famous friendly and respectful Japanese police officer will be happy to assist you find your way to Kosaku’s! Must visit if you dare!

One stop on the Seibu Line to a sushi restaurant run by a chef who is probably an avid golfer. Less than 10 minutes walk from Minami-Otsuka Station. Go without hesitation. I have no hesitation though. rattle~ Is there about 10 seats at the counter? Including table seats and tatami rooms, it seems like it can accommodate roughly 40 people. I took a quick look at the menu, but since I wasn't into sushi, I ordered ``2 servings of sashimi recommended by the chef.'' Clams, surf clams, fatty tuna, swordfish, squid, and conger eel come out in order. Until now, I had only eaten cooked conger eel, but the sashimi of conger eel had no taste at all, and the sweet white flesh was truly delicious. There was a stereotype that sashimi of swordfish = ginger and soy sauce, but at Kosaku-san, the meat is marinated in salt and served with slices of ginger, which is an unprecedented way to eat it, but this is also a really good seasoning. I wanted to try eating the saury fish even if it had a slightly charred surface. The fried flounder is crispy to the bone. Anyway, while drinking beer and making tea, we finished off with Kanto's classic kanbun rolls and plum and cucumber rolls, and the evening's dinner came to a close. Finally, the miso soup with sweet shrimp head and shrimp comes with a dessert, which is a smart arrangement. Eating and drinking all this for less than 15,000 yen for two people! It's cheap and delicious, and I was held back by the pleasant customer service from the owner and the staff.
