This is a step up from kaiten-zushi. They used to have a conveyor but now they hand make and deliver the sushi on kaiten plates. The plates range from 150-700¥ and you order from a tablet. Prices are still reasonable and after 15 plates the total bill for 2 was just over 6000¥ or about $46, less than I would pay at a kaiten in America by myself. They had a nice variety including a whole category of, "blue skinned" fish which includes silver skinned fish like saba mackerel, aji horse mackerel, kohada and others. The atmosphere is a bit odd because it used to be a kaiten and the conveyor is still there, but when you order sushi someone makes it and delivers it to you from the conveyor side so you never really interact with the waiter so it's kaiten-like without the kaiten and less service than a full restaurant.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants .. not expensive and good!
