A hidden gem in Jiyugaoka! This Showa-style place has a lovely atmosphere and some of the best tonkatsu I've had in Japan (also the 定食 menu has a quite generous size and variety). 本当に美味しかった!

The tonkatsu here was probably the best I've had in a long time. It was very flavorful and delicious. Good portion size too! The side dishes were also delicious and well-portioned!

I went to the tonkatsu restaurant on the second floor of the Jiyugaoka department store, which hasn't changed much for decades. I used to live nearby, so I've been here and the Vietnamese restaurant next door several times. Visited after a long time. Even though it's a tonkatsu restaurant, they serve sashimi, sukiyaki, eel, and yakitori. We have everything. It's voluminous and reasonably priced. From behind the shoji screen by the window, you can see a miscellaneous view of Jiyugaoka at dusk. calm down. I think the taste is delicious. What is impressive is the sauce. Yakitori sauce and pork chap sauce. It's a sauce with a lot of salt and a deep flavor that's somewhat miso-like, or koji-like, or perhaps an addition. This kind of thing is always present in stores that are doing their best as independent stores. There are some divine objects that cannot be imitated and are unlike any other. After all, individual stores are good.
