Okayama, Japan｜Shōun

The taste of the shop owner, who was trained at Kikunoi, is simply amazing! Each dish is beautiful to the eye and delicious to eat... Creative cuisine? Sometimes I get things that I think are delicious, too. The owner and his wife are all very friendly, the food is of a high standard, and this is the only restaurant that has earned a Michelin star rating.

This is a delicious kaiseki restaurant in Okayama. The food is basically all delicious, and rather than being luxurious, it feels like the classic Japanese cuisine + the owner's creation. The good news is that you can enjoy great alcoholic beverages at reasonable prices. (I can't eat well without alcohol...) The hall staff are also courteous and you can enjoy a satisfying meal.

I visited to celebrate a friend's birthday. As a courtesy, the owner served us a ``congratulatory'' sea bream bowl with sekihan. Every time, I feel that such thoughtfulness gives me a sense of fulfillment that goes beyond the taste of the food and the formality of the restaurant, and I am able to spend a very satisfying time. The taste is incredible. All dishes are delicately balanced, with the deep aroma of the soup stock, the texture, aroma, and taste of the ingredients. They are a perfect combination and you will be impressed no matter which one you receive. I have visited various Japanese restaurants, but personally I think this is the best in Okayama.
