Mishima, Shizuoka, Japan｜三嶋和食ひいらぎ

nice authentic japanese restaurant. tasty and cosy. I've been to the chef's previous one ( it's closed because of the land readjustment of a municipal project) and since then, I've been a huge fun of his cuisine, so really excited to know it opened again. Mishima city is famous for eels (unagi), but his tai-chazuke (made of sea bream and rice, eat with soaking dashi soup) is also my favorite one.

Visited the store after visiting Mishima Taisha Shrine It was around 11:30pm on a holiday, but there was only one group of customers ahead of us. Ordered eel ju (top), hitsumabushi (top), and grilled eel While we were chatting while drinking beer, Shirayaki appeared first. I didn't ask for Shirayaki first, but I guess they were considerate and made it a nice snack. In that case, I also ordered sake. Customers will spend more money if you provide attentive service. Just as you finish drinking, the main dish of eel is served. Good timing too Needless to say, the eel is soft and has an irresistible aroma of charcoal. The hitsumabushi has just the right amount of soup stock, so you can eat as much as you want. No lines, good taste, good service, and reasonable prices. A new famous eel restaurant has opened in Mishima, which is crowded with famous eel restaurants.
