Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, Japan｜Takino

Went for lunch with the family here for a steamed rice bowl. It tasted clean and very good, and the service was great. There was an English menu.

I recently had the incredible opportunity to dine at the renowned Takino Restaurant in Aizu Wakamatsu. The place exudes a warm and inviting ambiance, skillfully blending traditional and modern aesthetics. The menu at Takino serves as a true testament to the region's rich culinary heritage. I had the pleasure of savoring their signature dishes, each a masterpiece in its own right. The Aizu local ingredients were expertly showcased, and the meticulous attention to detail was palpable with every bite. The owner, who has earned numerous awards in Japan and even had their bentos featured on one of the famous luxury trains in the country, displayed remarkable humility. Despite their accolades, they graciously allowed us to order just one portion for two, considering we had already indulged in Tonkatsu earlier. This gesture only added to the overall positive experience. If you find yourself in the region, a visit to Takino Restaurant is an absolute must. It offers not only a delightful culinary journey but also a glimpse into the pride and passion that define Aizu Wakamatsu's gastronomic culture.

Ohmygosh! This was delicious! I got the Aizuwakamatsu set. Every bite was amazing.
