Very cool cocktail bar. The ambience is like stepping back in time, which is a great thing in this case. The staff are absolutely wonderful, but the owner is why I will come back. He was such a gracious host and seems to know his stuff. Nothing like the owner walking you out to the elevator when you leave. A must visit if in Oimachi.

Wonderful cocktail bar. We had the pleasure of being served by Mr Takayoshi Kaibara who opened this bar in the 70's and has been working there ever since. Amazing hospitality from a bartender who really knows his stuff. For non-English speakers trying to find this bar, you will not find the word "Roman" on any signboards - trust your GPS and enter the building and lift - the button for the top floor should indicate ROMAN. Expect old school charm with a lovely bartender dedicated to his craft.

A bar in Oimachi run by a married couple. I popped in and it was spacious inside, with two bar counters and 3-4 table seats, so it seemed like it could accommodate a large group. 70% of the customers are couples sitting at the counter drinking. It's open until late at night, but as it gets closer to midnight, the number of people increases. All the staff members are young and pleasant. It seems a little noisy on Friday night, but I guess it's calmer on weekdays. The price per cup is reasonable, so it's easy on your wallet even if you drink several cups. The rice looks delicious, so I'll try it next time. I'll bother you again!
