Kyoto, Japan｜Dining Bar コモゴモ

The owner is very friendly! Very relaxed atmosphere. Spend enough time and it's very easy to make friends here.

A friend and I recently went to Kyoto for a few days during our first trip across Japan. This bar ended our night all three of the days in town. We had an absolutely amazing time meeting people here, and getting to know the flow of the neighborhood and of the City of Kyoto. The owner was a wonderful and friendly man that brought us along and included us, making us feel welcome and at home. His warmth flows through the bar and defines its atmosphere. He displays curiosity and love for the world around him, and was interested in our world and our impression of Japan. On top of that, he was very kind and friendly, and spoke a good amount of English and was able to make a good connection with us. We actually ended up becoming fast friends over the few days of our stay and he and a friend of his took us out for ramen lunch at one of their favorite spots, and recommended places to go that were consistently top quality. I highly recommend and encourage all travelers to Kyoto to go to this izakaya, and enjoy the hell out of Japan.

Owner is a legend, has a cool bike and a cool jacket - sorry we couldn’t share a drink with you before we left!
