This udon restaurant definitely deserve more stars and more recognition! Please try this restaurant when you visit Karuizawa. It is a located in a small alley away from the main street, but not hard to find. Very family style udon place, the male owner speaks good English and happy to explain the food to you if you ask him. Very friendly owners The udon is different from what we usually eat, it is made from buckwheat and brown rice (if I didn’t take him wrong), so it is very chewy and taste good! The soup that goes with udon is from red miso, taste very good too. I will return next time!

I have had my share of decent udongs during my 40 something years but this place served an unique and for me, hands down, the best Udong I have ever had. Noodle texture was unique for me and all the ingredients were perfect. The Chef cooks right in front of you like a sushi bar. He put in so much care in preparing the side dish tempura which was also very impressive. Will definitely be coming here again if I visit Karuizawa which I am most certain of. Although we looked at the Korean menu I am sure they have an English one as well. In any case, the chef spoke decent English.

The taste is good, the service is good, there is a Chinese menu, and the chef looks like Grandpa Xiaowanzi! Grandpa can speak fluent English👍🏾👍🏾
